hey, christmas was good. and it was good talking to everyone. i have eaten about all the stuff i have recieved. thanks for the stuff.today we all ( us 4) went down town and messed around alittle, i baught a new chip for the camera too. so everyone is planning to go to hawaii, sounds cool. take pics so i can see. last night our road flooded again for the 5th time, it rained really hard so when it was time to go home we were already soaked and we entered in the sewage water almost to the waist to return to our house. there were allot of people who got stuck and their engins died so we helped push them out. it was cool the first 4 times but now its rediculous because you have to wash your shoes and everything. did you get the photos i sent last time? what i want to do is take a picture of all the new fruit i eat. there is some fruits i forgot to tell you about-- there is one called -Jaca: it gets about as big as the tires on the bronco. its like a big spikey ball with stuff like the insides of a peach or something. there is huge banannas here too!! I ate one the other day and i got full just from the bananna, its as thick as my wrist. there is jenny papa which is a softball sized fruit that has spikes all over with slush stuff in it. this week is a little difficult in teaching because its the new year and everyone leaves town to go to the beach so there is almost noone here. so it will be a dificult week to teach. transfers will be on the 7th and im pretty sure my comp will be leaving- elder Correa. he liked talking to courtney and said she was funny. have a good week and read the scripures. thanks for the prayers, love you all mmmmk. jordan here is a word that means about the same as holy cow that we say allot = caraka! ( kah-rah-kah)- and the r doesnt sound like raw, you barely say the r because its fast. dad- actually i have realized since i talked you you all i need to show people more respect so sorry for being alitle nervous when you guys called and ill work on being more happy. thanks Elder Davis

This is on Kenzie's 20th birthday! They bought cakes and made jello-o. From the looks of his chocolate-covered chin, he's enjoying the cake.

The rains they get down there flood the streets. I believe this is a day that the flood waters had receded from hip-height to knee-height.

Kenzie is visiting with Courtney's favorite cartoon characters!
hey, tomorrow is christmasss! this last week we had a conference in macaƩ, the president gave us the number you need to dial ---011-55-22-2732-4638. this has the codes and stuff so call this. you need to call at 4:30 in my time but i dont know exactly how much the time differnece is inbetween us. when we were in macaƩ, the president let us watch the movie cronicles of narnia, it was strange. remember the first time we watched it and it was horrible? the movie is related to Jesus Crist. the lion is christ and how he dies and ressurects. the person edmund is us and the witch is santan tempting us with false things. after seeing the film knowing this and relating it to our lives it is real good. this week we have been struggling finding new people, but well find some good people. we have been striving to do our part. the other day was funny because the bishop here went with us to visit some people, he found a little blue light on the ground and put it on top of his head for the rest of the night. - he said he didnt have a missionary badge but he has the light.( light of christ) so it was funny. thanks for the packages, i have eaten allot. for my birthday we baught 2 huge cakes, and made 2 huge bowls of jello and had a bunch of pizza pockets so i was stuffed!! thanks for the tie too i like it. durring the morning me and my comp woke up early and went in the other comps rooms and made a bunch of noise so they got mad but we laughed real hard. and also the big river near us flooded and hit allot of houses so we went and helped a member take everything out of their house. it was a cool service project. have a good christmas and make sure you call!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hey, tudo bom. tomorrow is my b-day!!! this week was good, we are striving to work harder. this week we were knocking doors and found a really good family that we taught and they are doing good. we like to sing hymns to people too- my 2 comp taught me a thing called - search and destroy- where you sing a hymn first then share a message. its a change from the usual stuff. today we went to a walmart that just finished being built and it was awesome! the only thing rediculous is that the peanut m and m´s are way expensive!! they had a huge place for fish where they sell shark, sailfish, tuna and a bunch of stuff. i took a picture by the fish so ill try to send it through the email. it is almost exactly like the ones in the united states. while we were there we baught 2 cakes for tomorrow. i have been talking allot in my sleep so my comp is having troubles durring the day becasue he is tired, he fell asleep during 2 lessons one day. but i dont think anything really interesting happened besides this stuff. i still havent heard anything about calling home yet but we still have 1 more pday before christmas. other elders are planning to have their families call to the church so plan on calling the church at 4:30 heres the number with the area code---(22)-2732-4638. if i get more info ill tell you guys -- thanks for the present ill open tomorrow and i love you all!!! Elder Davis --- i tried to send some pics but the computor is too slow.

hey, hows it going? here it is getting really hot, and the days are passing really fast. one thing that is really funny is that i talk allot durring the night and last night i kept my comp up 2 hours because i talked and he said i told him a story about a guy that kept the rules and was blessed. one other time i kicked him in the head, another i sung songs, another i taught lessons, another i waved my arms, tried to crawl, walked aroung the house and wistled and barked like a dog so my comp is getting really anoyed with the talking. the other night he hit me with his pillow allot. its funny for me but hes sick of it. this last week was difficult, santan tries to get you to forget the lord and focus on the world and things that dont bring happiness. i finally got sick of it one day and focused on the good things and had a good attitude and things went good. one thing that i realized again is the importance of the book of mormon. we were teaching an investigator the other day and he started to have doubts again, he prayed before and recieved an answer when we were there a couples times back and its rediculous how santan gets us to disbelieve. so we showed the 4 steps to believe 1 mosiah 4:9, put the message in your head. 2 2tim.314-17= use the scriptures, 3 james 1:5 -pray, and 4- john 14:21-23= obey. we did the first 3 steps with him and he realized how he was fooled. i was fooled this last week too. so read the scriptures and dont let one day pass by without reading the bom. or santan will have power to decieve. i got the packages, thanks. so hows jord and everyone doing? the president still hasnt said anything about calling home. i guess ill tell you next week. i know the bom is true, Jesus Crist lives and the church is true. the commandments are to bless us. and our h.f. loves us. thanks for being my family. Elder Davis hold to the rod and dont let go.

Dan, Grandpa Davis, Jon, and Jordan at the Dunes--Nov. 28, 2008

hey, hows it going? the pictures were good, looks like it was way fun.this week was rain. it rained everyday and it has rained for about 2 weeks. on sunday it cleared up so its good now. in total the roads flooded 3 times. the packages arrived but they are at the lzs house. i need to go pick them up next p-day. how is scott and dan and grandpa doing? this week will be a fight to complete our numbers. but well get them. this last sunday i learned something interesting, a member taught about being free from captivity- to be free you need to have 3 things, faith, patience, and you need to be happy. mosiah-24:10-16 i have really learned that you need to be happy or nothing will get done, the other week me and my comp were having trouble teaching people so we played a game- heads or tails, if i lost he had to do something and vise versa, one time he lost and had to hug a tree for a min. and it was funny, because we were happy we were blessed to teach. so be happy. if you can tell jamison good job and work had and dont give up. and bye. i havent heard anything about when or how we will be calling home yet, i think we will hear about it next week. hows it going jordan, alex and courtney? what have you all been doing lately? jord-have you been realding the bom? have a good week and remember its only about 23 days until christmas which will be really wierd because its really hot here!!! and no snow- nooooooo! opa! sounds like things are going good, today me and my comp went down town to get our money.- we get about 110 reals every 15-16 days = about 50$. --i dont give my money away, and i am saving it for an amergency or something. we also went around and found a place where they sell american candy so i bought a snickers. but it costed allot. i also baught 2 new ties and some pants because my other pair is stained with sweat and wont go away. this week me and my comp worked harder than i have ever worken on the mish. we set a big goal to challenge us and with the lords help we planned ahead and worked way way hard and the last day, sunday we still had to teach 3 lessons 1more with a member and get 10 more contacts in. so we knocked doors, called all the members and did what we could and i now know we really can do anything with the lords help, we just have to do our part. and we completed our goal. 21 lessons, 10 with members, 75 contacts 12 new invest. and some other stuff. it was the best week ever. one day when we were walking down the street to start the day, we found a box going to the trash can and it had a cristmas tree in it, about 2 feet tall with some old ornaments. so me and my comp grabbed it so now we have a cristmas tree at our apartment. the lord gave us the tree for the good work we did. dad said - cute- ehhh. is the sand rail getting heavy with all the stuff your putting on it? when i started the time to study seemed a little long the first week on the mish but now it just passes too fast and i learn allot every day. i want more time to study. dad, whats a stake light? thanks for all the help and for the letters and things, have a good week and cort- go to church. jord- is gears of war 2 good or what? alex- enjoy every day. mom love you, dad- thanks for everything and love you . love you all and have a good week. Kenzie's visit to the zoo--he liked the toucan and visiting the biggest soccer stadium in the world (so they say)

Kenzie's Comp, Elder Snackenburg (He's gone home now)

hey, tudo bom?
there was some crazy stuff that happened this week! since it is almost summer here it rains everyother day and about 2 days ago it rained so hard and so much that the road in front of our apartment flooded about up to the waist and it wasnt only the rain but the sewer flooded up with it and. me and my comp didnt know about this until later as we had about 30 min to get in the house while we were walking home. we saw the huge river and there was no way to get in our house without walking in it. so we had to walk to our apartment in knee deep sewer and rain water for a while because the water went down from the waist to the knees. while we were walking there were semi trucks driving through and made big waves that came and hit us. so it was pretty interesting ( this was the second time to flood like this) the first time we took pictures of us in the water. ill have to print them off and send them home.
the work is going good here and we are starting to really work differently getting references and following up more with our investigators so we are recieving more blessings and guidance than ever. i know the lord is preparing his children here allot.
sounds like things are going good there, HHHAAAAPPPYYYY B- DAY MOM. - we eat allot of blackbeans, rice, meat, and farofa. farofa is something i dont know how to describe besides is like sand you put with your rice- you take wheat that is not ground up so fine, put it in a frying pan with butter a slice of chopped garlic and seasoning. i like it.
and just be an example with the lady and dont argue, just correct her and give her the right information about the church. but dont destroy her. and sound like the sand rail is improving it will be good to ride it later. thanks for helping me dad, and mom, and fam. i love you all and have a good week. read the scriptures every day and pray sincerely and together. prepare jordan for the mish. love you all
have a good week Elder Davis
